How do I mount the viewfinder adapter and viewfinder on my Diana F+?

To mount the viewfinder adapter on your Diana F+, twist the wheel on top of the adapter counter clockwise (to a 9 and 3’clock position) to unlock it. The back of the adapter says “Camera Back” – so you can tell which way it’s supposed to go.

Fit the front of the adapter first – it should fit into place with the front viewfinder. Next smoothly push down the back of the adapter until it fits into place as well. Both the front and back of the Viewfinder Adapter have little squares that stick out and anchor it perfectly to the matching front and back of the camera’s viewfinder. Twist the top wheel clockwise (to a 12 and 6’clock position) to lock it into place.

Once that’s done, slide the included viewfinder into the plastic shoe on the left side of the viewfinder adapter.

For the 20mm Fisheye lens viewfinder, the silver ring on the Fisheye Viewfinder should face forward.

For the 38mm lens viewfinder, please note that the Viewfinder has a smaller brightline frame inside when you look through it. This frame is for use with the 55mm Diana F+ Lens. With your 38mm Lens, you’ll use the Viewfinder’s entire frame (everything that you can see). This viewfinder is calibrated for the large 12-shot Diana F+ format (52×52mm).

For the 55mm lens viewfinder, please note that the Viewfinder has a smaller brightline frame inside when you look through it. This smaller frame is for use with your 55mm Diana F+ Lens.

For the 110mm lens, you will not need an extra viewfinder as the adapter doubles as one. The viewfinder is calibrated for the large 12-shot Diana F+ format (52×52mm). When you’re shooting a close subject (1-2m), then tilt the lens up a little bit and ensure that the actual lens, and not just the viewfinder, is pointing at your subject’s head (or wherever you want the emphasis of the photo to be.)
