How do I create a LomoKino movie using Final Cut Pro 7 (Mac OS X Lion)?

The LomoKino makes all the wonderful possibilities of 35mm film photography available to the world of movie making. Cross-processed comedy? Redscale romance? Black & White drama? Sure you can! Whether you choose to create experimental stop motion or fantastic montage movies, it’s possible with a LomoKino. We have prepared a step-by-step guide to get you started.

Here are steps on how to create a LomoKino movie using Final Cut Pro 7 (Mac OS X Lion):

  1. Launch QuickTime.
  2. Go to ‘File’ then ‘Open Image Sequence’, select the first image of the sequence and click ‘Open’.
  3. Import sequence settings will appear. Select desired frame rate and press ‘Ok’. Your LomoKino video will open.
  4. You can click on ‘Options’ for more compression settings. Once you are done press ‘Ok’ and save your movie.
  5. You can now open and view your LomoKino movie.
  6. To edit your LomoKino video, launch FinalCut.
  7. Go to ‘File’ and create a new project. Then create a new sequence.
  8. Now go to ‘File’ and import your LomoKino movie and music of your choice (optional).
  9. Drag and drop your files into the timeline, position them and resize the music clip to match the movie length.
  10. Go to ‘Sequence’ and then ‘Render All’ and render both video and audio.
  11. Now you can preview your video.
  12. Go to ‘File’, then select ‘Export’ and choose QuickTime Movie. Choose your movie output format and include video and audio (if there is audio).
  13. Name your LomoKino movie and click ‘Save’. Exporting will start, it may take some time.
  14. Find your LomoKino movie and enjoy!
