Recap: LomoWalk Metropolis X Seattle

1

This past August the Lomography community found itself in Seattle, Washington for LomoWalk Metropolis: Seattle! The event was hosted by Cole Whitworth with support from Panda Lab. This was our biggest LomoWalk Metropolis event yet— the analogue community in Seattle really showed through with over 50 sign ups for the walk! Let's take a look at how Victor Steinbrueck Park was seen through the eyes of the participants.

"I joined this walk because the leader, Cole Whitworth, is a friend of mine. Seattle has a very active and supportive photography scene and this walk was by far the largest I’ve been to so far. It was great getting together with many of the photographers I already knew as well as meeting new people. Metropolis was a great film stock to shoot in Pike Place Market! The market is very colorful and bright so it was nice to give it a fresh spin with a desaturated film."

"The Seattle film community are some of the most fantastically creative people that I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and creating art with. We shoot with cameras worth thousands and cameras not even worth the plastic they're made out of. The Lomography walk at the Pike Place Market felt like the perfect opportunity to bring the almost 20-year-old Lomo Supersampler out to photograph both the beauty of the market and the grittiness of the alleys and infamous Gum Wall. It was a great day filled with friends, conversation, food, and so many dogs to pet I almost didn't even have time to take photos. Thanks for a great day, Lomo!"

We hope everybody who participated had a fun, film filled day! Once again, special thanks to Cole Whitworth and Panda Lab for making this event happen.
